Yorkshire and Humber Assembly
The Yorkshire and Humber Assembly is the current Regional Planning Body for the Yorkshire and Humber Region.
Its main responsibilities and functions are:
- Provide regional leadership
- Agree strategic priorities
- Prepares the Integrated Regional Framework in partnership
- Prepare, monitor and review the Yorkshire and Humber Plan
- Ensure Development Plans are in conformity with the Yorkshire and Humber Plan
The Assemblies main mechanisms to help deliver the outcomes set out in the Yorkshire and Humber Plan are:
- The YH Plan (RSS) is part of the Statutory Development Plan for local authorities in the region. Therefore: it is a material consideration when determining planning applications; and the Assembly has a duty to assess Local Authorities’ Local Development Frameworks as they are prepared to ensure “general conformity” with the Yorkshire and Humber Plan
- The Assembly’s Housing Delivery role through Regional Housing Board
- The Assembly’s Transport Delivery role through Regional Transport Board
- Monitoring
- Research
- Capacity Building
