Providing a network of appropriate waste management facilities
Progress on waste DPDs is slow with only 2 authorities nearing publication stage and several authorities at evidence gathering stage.
The Assembly prepares the annual Regional Technical Advisory Body (RTAB) report on Waste Data in accordance with advice in PPS10.
We also input into national waste data research to support regional data reporting.
We are in the process of preparing implementation guidance and gathering good practice on waste policy. This is likely to cover the following areas:
- data - its role, where to find it, current limitations to waste data and proposed national and regional waste data projects
- identifying Strategic Waste Sites in a Core Strategy
- helping to bring forward sites for development
- what size sites do you need to meet waste needs?
