Key Strategic Projects
Strategic Schemes were commissioned as part of the 04/06 investments round. They are:-
Green Corridor
The Green Corridor project is aimed at improving the former coalfield areas of south east Wakefield, north east Barnsley and north west Doncaster the vision for this project is to transform the Green Corridor into “an area of opportunity where low demand and poor quality housing, neighbourhood decline and poor environment are a thing of the past.”

Golden Triangle
The Golden Triangle is a cross boundary project between North Leeds, Harrogate and York, which aims to provide affordable housing solutions in an area of high demand.

Six Streets, Doncaster
The project is intended to create a radical transformation of an area of pre-1919 terraced houses through selective demolition, area remodeling, home improvement, new build provision, environmental improvements with improved use of public space and a cross tenure approach to area management with strong resident involvement.

The Beeston Hill project in Leeds aims to acquire and demolish a number of low demand and abandoned properties in the area.

Advance Goole
Advance Goole aims to tackle low demand and abandonment, under achievement by years 10 & 11 pupils and low skills and lack of confidence in the unemployed over 50s.

Advance Crosby
Advance Crosby aims to tackle low demand and abandonment, reduce crime & anti social behaviour and improved housing conditions leading to improved health outcomes.

Regional Homes Loans (covering North, South and West Yorkshire) and Humber Loans Fund
The Regional Loads Fund aims to improve private sector stock condition to meet government Decent Homes Standard.

Eco-Homes, Rotherham
The Eco-Homes project aims to provide 23 new three-bed, affordable homes to Eco-Homes “excellent” standards at Henley rise in Rotherham. The houses will have super insulation, hot water panels, photovoltaic panels, micro wind turbines, whole house ventilation, waste reduction and recycling, eco design and energy monitoring system.

Israel approves the building of 1,600 new homes in east Jerusalem, threatening to overshadow the US vice-president's visit.
