The Yorkshire and Humber Assembly
English Regions Network Conference
Leading local politicians and stakeholders from across the country will gather in Yorkshire this week for a major conference.
More than 140 delegates are expected to attend the Annual Conference of the English Regions’ Network (ERN), the umbrella organisation for the eight English Regional Assemblies.
Minister for Yorkshire and Humber Rosie Winterton will be the keynote speaker at the May 23 conference, where the future of regional decision-making on planning, housing, transport and the environment will be top of the agenda.
Other speakers include MP Sir Peter Soulsby, who sits on the House of Commons Modernisation Committee currently looking at setting up Regional Select Committees, Keith Mitchell, Chairman of ERN and the South East Assembly and Peter Box, Chair of the Yorkshire and Humber Assembly.
The conference will examine the detail of the Government’s recent announcements on its Sub National Review of economic development and regeneration and the implications for councils, regional development agencies and regional assemblies.
